Nikon announced a new AF-S DX format 35mm f/1.8G lens, (which equates to 52.4mm on a FX & 35mm film format camera). This is Nikons first "single" (vice zoom) focal length lens made specifically for Nikon DX cameras. Here is Nikons site with the particulars. DPreview has some interesting comments and questions why this 35mm is exclusive built for the DX format. It would appear Nikon is targeting the D40 thru D90 audience. The lens is priced in the $200 range.
